Closed circuit television cameras or CCTV cameras are now a part of security, rather a need. It is a digital way of surveillance. These cameras, when implanted, produce snapshots, images and videos for security and surveillance purposes. The recordings or snapshots are either stored directly on a slow-speed tape recorder, or installed along the disks on PC or laptops. The main purpose of CCTV camera is to provide you with solid or physical proof. CCTV cameras transmit source images to just one place as they are closed-circuit devices; and storage on digital devices since digital devices storage space is more and they can monitor every recording limitlessly.
Working of CCTV camera:
CCTV camera works on same procedure; records each and every move and stores it to the disk. The recorder should be slow one; so that it can record the images and videos of every minute. It will provide you with the results, but within radius. To get the better working, the settings of camera, for instance, the zoom, view and display quality, time, distance-placement and even the lens settings should be perfect; otherwise the result would be of no use.
Features of CCTV cameras:
The components involve Iris, lens, cable attaches and coaxial cable to attach the camera to the out-screen monitor. The lens should have following features for effective output:
- The camera should have a fixed lens, allowing it to focus on the exact location and catch a snap shot or make a video perfectly.
- The zoom lens or its zoom-in and out features should be of good quality in order that you can identify the person or things precisely.
- If you want to implant or set the camera inside the house, go for manual iris lens; so that it can catch a good quality images. But if the camera is outside, things would surely present different view at day or night time. In this circumstance, better is to get a regular Iris that will automatically change the settings for day and night time.
Pros and cons of Closed circuit TV cameras:
They provide you with proof to catch a culprit, but the disadvantage is that they don’t always work, providing you sometimes with gibberish output. Many people consider them a hindrance in privacy, if installed in office, washrooms or change rooms in boutique, etc.; however, due to the security risk, it has left people with no choice, but to install one for proper security and protection.
